{"id":2341,"date":"2020-03-20T22:47:13","date_gmt":"2020-03-20T22:47:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dynamicteamsolutions.org\/?p=2341"},"modified":"2020-03-20T22:47:13","modified_gmt":"2020-03-20T22:47:13","slug":"wake-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.dynamicteamsolutions.com\/index.php\/2020\/03\/20\/wake-up\/","title":{"rendered":"WAKE-UP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img class=\"wp-image-2342 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/dev.dynamicteamsolutions.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/photo-of-person-holding-alarm-clock-1028741-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"388\" height=\"258\" \/>I slept an hour later today.\u00a0 And felt a familiar anxiety as I awoke.\u00a0 When suddenly a 4-letter word popped into my head.<\/p>\n<p>Probably not the word you\u2019re thinking.\u00a0 The word was STOP<\/p>\n<p>Stop trying to keep things normal.<\/p>\n<p>Stop trying to work a full day.<\/p>\n<p>Stop expecting that your kids can be kept busy, or don\u2019t need your attention.<\/p>\n<p>Stop hoping to get momentum when everything is slowing down.<\/p>\n<p>Stop pushing a square peg, into a round hole.<\/p>\n<p>There are so many other 4-letter words that occur to me right now.\u00a0 Good words.\u00a0 Slow. Rest. Play. Time. Talk. Pray. Ease. Home.<\/p>\n<p>And there is another 4-letter word, work.\u00a0 It\u2019s time we stop, recognize and re-evaluate what it means to \u201cwork\u201d right now.\u00a0 Things aren\u2019t \u2018business as usual\u2019.\u00a0 This isn\u2019t the grind to which we\u2019ve become so fully accustomed \u2013 even slaves to following.\u00a0 I wrote an article in 2015 titled \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/exclusive.multibriefs.com\/content\/stop-checking-your-email\/business-management-services-risk-management\">Stop Checking Your Email<\/a>\u201d.\u00a0 It was good then, and perhaps even more relevant today.\u00a0 But the most remarkable part is the start of the article, where I note my wish that the whole world would just stop.\u00a0 Stop and let everyone catch their breath.\u00a0 Where we are not working to keep up with, or ahead of, our competitors. Not rushing to keep our kids involved in a bunch of activities.<\/p>\n<p>One might reference the importance of my \u2018being careful what you wish for\u2019&#8230;but, I am looking at the positives.\u00a0 There is a real gift in having more time, even when it isn\u2019t on your own terms.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what I propose we START doing with our TIME:<\/p>\n<p>Start making time for loved ones.\u00a0 Facetime, call, or should they live with you, give them your full attention.<\/p>\n<p>Start giving yourself time to rest.\u00a0 Breathe.\u00a0 Stretch.<\/p>\n<p>Start a new routine that requires time or energy you don\u2019t normally have.\u00a0 Perhaps working out (from home), reading more, cooking healthy, gardening, learning a new language.<\/p>\n<p>Start taking time to think about what matters to you, personally and professionally.<\/p>\n<p>Start thinking of how you can be the person you most want to be&#8230;now and in the future.<\/p>\n<p>The hamster wheel has stopped.
